Establishing a Central Teaching and Learning Centre, Hussein Technical University

Project Funder British Council, Jordan

Year 2021 - 2022

Consultancy Role Supporting the British Council and Hussein Technical University (HTU) Jordan in the conceptual design and first year action plan for a new Teaching and Learning Centre. The TLC is designed to support strategic teaching and learning activities in HTU and to offer a lead example for this work for other Jordanian universities. 

Deliverables including:

  • Rapid review of international examples of teaching and learning centres, their roles, structures and strategic purpose.

  • Provision of information events and webinars for HTU and representatives from other Jordanian institutions and universities.

Strategic Course Enhancement Programme

Project Funder Solent University, Southampton 

Year 2021 - 2022

Consultancy Role Commissioned as project consultant to lead and support course teams in the enhancement of curriculum and learning, teaching and assessment to improve performance against institutional KPIs.


Deliverables including:

  • Briefing documents, support materials, workshops and action plans to support course leaders and course teams in planning for and undertaking strategically aligned enhancement activities.

  • Mentoring and support workshops for Course Leaders.

Developing Inclusive Learning Subject Communities in Higher Education

Project Funder The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA)

Year 2021 - 2022

Consultancy Role Commissioned as project consultant with Professor Mike McLinden to produce a briefing document and guiding principles to support the QAA in embedding ‘inclusion’/’inclusivity’ in revised subject benchmark statements.

Deliverables including:

  • Briefing document and guiding principles to support the QAA in embedding inclusivity in subject benchmark statements.

  • Workshop materials and protocol for use by subject benchmark review teams.
